ExaGrid Management Team


Bill Andrews
President and CEO

Bill has over 20 years of experience in high-tech marketing and has led numerous teams in high-growth companies. Most recently, Bill was the vice president of marketing for Pedestal Software. Pedestal quickly became a leader in the security auditing space. Pedestal was acquired by Altiris, a public company.

Before joining Pedestal Software, Bill was the senior vice president of marketing and sales for eDial, a developer of Voice over IP (VoIP) software. Prior to eDial, Bill was general manager of Adero's streaming media business unit. Bill came to Adero via Adero's acquisition of StarBurst. At StarBurst, Bill served as vice president of marketing and sales. Bill repositioned the company and guided StarBurst into an industry leadership position with 100 percent annual growth. Bill also held vice president of marketing and vice president of sales positions at Live Vault, Microcom and Bitstream. Earlier in his career, Bill held a series of marketing and sales roles at Data General and Compugraphic. He is a graduate of Fitchburg State College and holds a BS in Industrial Technology.


Dave Therrien
Chief Technical Officer and Founder

Dave has over 28 years of experience in data storage systems engineering development. Prior to founding ExaGrid Systems, Dave was Vice President of Software Development at StorageNetworks. Before StorageNetworks, Dave was the Director of the Advanced Technology Group at HighGround Systems where he was part of the founding engineering team and contributed to the success of their Storage Resource Management product. Prior to HighGround, Dave was part of the founding engineering team and a Principal Engineer at Epoch Systems, which was acquired in 1993 by EMC. Dave began his career at Data General, focusing on the design and test of their super-minicomputer systems and storage products. Dave received his BSEE from Northeastern University. Dave currently leads an Advanced Development Group at ExaGrid, which is actively focused on deduplication research and development in concert with multiple academic institutions.


Jackson Burritt
Vice President of Finance, Corporate Controller

Jackson has over 10 years of experience in finance and accounting management at both private and public high-tech companies and in public accounting. Most recently, he was the Corporate Controller at Symbotic LLC, a robotics warehouse automation company.  Prior to that, Jackson was the Director of Accounting for Netezza Corporation, a publicly held data warehouse appliance vendor that was acquired by IBM Corporation. Earlier in his career, Jackson worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston.  

Jackson graduated from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst with a major in Accounting and is a licensed CPA.

Nick Ganio
Vice President of Sales

Nick has more than 20 years of experience leading the global direct and channel sales functions at several well-known enterprise and storage networking companies as well as other technological and market leaders.

Nick's experience includes an early sales career at IBM Corporation with a focus on mainframe and minicomputer solutions then Digital Equipment Corporation as a member of the executive team responsible for several domestic and international business units. Later Nick was President of Bell Micro's Enterprise Storage Division responsible for $1 Billion in annual revenues managing a systems integration division focused on enterprise storage (e.g., EMC, McData, Brocade, CNT) solutions. Nick was also Executive Vice President at MTI Technology Inc, one of EMC's largest Storage Network Integrators. More recently, Nick served as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at 3Com Corporation where he managed the global direct sales, channel sales and overall corporate marketing function. Nick graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bernard Baruch University in New York City with a double major in Finance and Computer Science. Nick is also fluent in three languages.


Andy Palmer
Vice President of International Sales, EMEA & APAC

Andy has worked in sales and marketing of leading-edge, high-tech IT products for 38 years, selling directly and through partners to large and small enterprises and telcos all over the world. Prior to joining ExaGrid in 2007, Andy was Vice President and Managing Director of Foundry Networks from startup in EMEA and also at Axon Networks and Spider Systems, two other successful European companies. His career also includes senior management roles at 3Com as Vice President and Managing Director as well as Hewlett-Packard.

Andy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of Reading in Berkshire.


Adrian VanderSpek
Vice President of Engineering

Adrian brings over 30 years of experience in hardware and software product development in the storage and communications markets. Adrian has been at ExaGrid for 11 years and defined the original ExaGrid product architecture. Prior to joining ExaGrid, he was a key contributor at successful startups such as Banyan and HighGround and has also worked at large corporations such as Sun Microsystems and Raytheon. While at Sun MicroSystems, he helped reorganize their storage management products. He assisted in development of Storage Resource Management and led development of Media Mirror at HighGround. He led the transparent SCSI cache and non-nonvolatile ram disk projects for Vermont Research, developed the board sets and security keys for Banyan’s network servers, and helped develop communication systems for Raytheon. He is named on 14 US and European patents. Most of his career has been in hardware and software product development.

Adrian has an MSEE and BSEE in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.


Paul Doucette
Director of Customer Support

Paul brings over 30 years of experience in customer service and engineering with an emphasis on bringing new products to market. Prior to joining ExaGrid in 2011, Paul spent 18 years at EMC, most recently running Technical Support for the Atmos Cloud product line. Paul was also responsible for forming the original support team for the VNX product line, a combination of Celerra and Clariion products. Paul also held management positions in the VNX, Recoverpoint, and Centera product lines. Prior to EMC, Paul worked at Epoch Systems for two years as a support representative and at Prime Computer for ten years as a dedicated support engineer, five of which were spent on the General Electric account.

Paul attended Northeastern University majoring in Management Information Systems.


Sam Moukalled
Director of Customer Support

Sam has over 25 years of experience in software development, high-tech storage, and backup and recovery technologies. Prior to joining ExaGrid in 2007, Sam worked for EMC for 10 years in the storage and backup and recovery space both as a Technical Consultant and as a Technical Support Manager. Before EMC, Sam spent 10 years working for Alcatel Transcom and Prime Computer as an IT manager and UNIX Kernel Tuning Specialist. Prior to Alcatel and Prime, he was a Software Developer for Russ Electric. Sam developed many automation packages to translate CAD electrical schematics into machine code instructions to be fed to computerized wiring machines.

Sam has a Master of Science in Business Management from Eastern Nazarene College and a BSEE from UMass Dartmouth. Sam is fluent in three languages.
