Fifty Percent of Storage Professionals Surveyed
Cite Backup Reliability as Top Concern

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2005--ExaGrid Systems, innovators in Self-Protecting Storage, today announced that a survey of storage IT professionals attending recent storage conferences, showed that 50 percent of respondents are concerned that their data may not be reliably protected by current backup processes. In addition, an even greater number do not have confidence that they could adequately restore backed up data in an appropriate time frame if needed.
The informal poll of more than 100 professionals was conducted at two premier conferences for storage IT professionals - Storage Decisions and Storage World Conference 2005. Additional data from the survey showed 40 percent of participants expressed concern about the effectiveness of their disaster recovery abilities, with 30 percent of total respondents not even having a disaster recovery solution in place for reasons that included lack of budget, organizational priorities and general confusion about the technology options available.
