ExaGrid Appoints Paul M. Bernard Chief Financial Officer
Innovator in Disk-based Backup Poised for Next Phase of Growth in Dynamic Market
Westborough, - Mass. July 17, 2006 - ExaGrid Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Intelligent Disk-based Data Protection?, today announced that Paul M. Bernard has joined the company as chief financial officer. Bernard will oversee all finance, manufacturing, and administrative functions to help propel ExaGrid into its next phase of growth and development.

Bernard is a seasoned executive with a proven track record as a leader and strategist who helps drive profit, cash flow and competitive performance. Prior to joining ExaGrid, Bernard served as CFO of EqualLogic, the second-leading IP SAN solutions vendor to the midrange market Previously Bernard was the vice president of finance and operations and CFO of Pelago Networks, a telecommunications equipment provider. As chief operating officer of Enmed, he led the team that commercialized the company's clinical trial management software, securing its commercial release and initial revenue stream before its eventual merger with a large IT consulting firm.
Earlier in his career, Bernard served as CFO of Integral Access, a provider of broadband access networking equipment acquired by Telco Systems, and CFO of CareInsite (NASDAQ:CARI), the leading provider of e-health communications technology, which completed a $100 million initial public offering before its subsequent sale to WebMD (NASDAQ:HLTH) for $2 billion.
Bernard holds an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
