ExaGrid Names Fred Pinkett Vice President of Product Management

WESTBOROUGH, Mass., December 19, 2005 - ExaGrid Systems, Inc., the leader in Intelligent Disk-based Data Protection, today announced that Fred Pinkett has been named vice president of product management.

A twenty-year technology veteran, Pinkett will work along with ExaGrid's executive team on product strategy, execution, and operations. He will also work with ExaGrid's sales organization and business development teams on strategic product and technology relationships for ExaGrid's disk-based backup appliance. Pinkett will report directly to Bill Andrews, president and CEO of ExaGrid.

Prior to ExaGrid, Pinkett was vice president of product management at Pedestal Software, a developer of auditing software for system security configuration policies, which was acquired by Altiris in 2005. He was a co-founder and vice president of product management and customer support at SHYM Technology, a provider of solutions for securing applications using digital certificate technology, and held senior-level roles at Network Associates, RSA Security, and Banyan. He holds an undergraduate degree in computer science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Boston College.

ExaGrid Intelligent Disk-based Data Protection
ExaGrid offers a turnkey appliance that works in conjunction with existing backup applications and is 25 percent the cost of standard SATA disk. With ExaGrid, organizations can replace onsite tape backups with a disk-based backup appliance, and still maintain their existing offsite tape strategy.
