ExaGrid, Leading Disk-Based Backup Storage Appliance Vendor, Reports Record Revenue for Q1 2016

Company Boosts Bookings with Double-Digit Revenue Growth Over Same Period in 2015, Marking Best Revenue Quarter in ExaGrid’s History

Westborough, Mass., April 6, 2016 – ExaGrid, a leading provider of disk-based backup storage with data deduplication solutions, today announced that it is continuing its fast growth in the disk-based backup storage market with record revenue in Q1 2016. ExaGrid grew revenue with double-digit growth over the same quarter a year ago, making it the best revenue quarter in the company’s history and the company’s ninth consecutive cash positive quarter.

“ExaGrid continues to move up market into larger accounts, and in Q1 2016, ExaGrid’s average selling price continued to climb to its highest point in the company’s history,” said Bill Andrews, CEO of ExaGrid. “ExaGrid has always been strong in the mid-market to small enterprise with customers that have tens to hundreds of terabytes of data; however, the company is now also doing a large amount of business with customers that have multiple hundreds of terabytes of data due to our recent release of the EX40000E appliance, which can take in up to a 1PB full backup in a single scale-out GRID of 25 appliances.”

In Q1 2016, ExaGrid booked record new customer orders and record revenue from six and seven-figure new customer deals. Due to the combination of its unique landing zone, scale-out backup storage architecture, and larger appliances and GRID systems, ExaGrid continues to win 70% of the time against the larger brand vendors.

In addition to the financial milestones of record revenue and continued cash positive status, ExaGrid announced the following quarterly milestones:

  • ExaGrid was named “Product of the Year in Backup Hardware” by Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com – the top award in the category.
  • The EX40000E appliance has been released and is now shipping. The latest – and largest – addition to the ExaGrid product line, the EX40000E takes in up to a 40TB full backup, and with 25 EX40000Es combined in a single scale-out GRID takes in up to a 1PB full backup at an ingest rate of up to 200TB per hour.

“ExaGrid continues to gain traction in the market by replacing first-generation inline deduplication scale-up solutions from larger brand vendors,” said Andrews. “With ExaGrid’s unique landing zone and scale-out GRID for backup storage, ExaGrid delivers three times the ingest performance and five to ten times the restore performance of the larger brand vendors, and is the only solution that provides a fixed-length backup window as data grows.”
