ExaGrid Vice President Graham Woods Wins Storage Award at The Storries XII

Vice President of International Systems Engineers at ExaGrid Receives Coveted “Service to Industry Award” from Storage Magazine

Westborough, Mass., June 24, 2015 – ExaGrid®, a leading provider of disk-based backup storage, today announced that its Vice President of International Systems Engineers at ExaGrid, Graham Woods, was presented with the “Service to Industry Award” at the Storage Awards 2015, held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on June 18. More than 400 people were in attendance.

The award comes at a time of continued growth for ExaGrid, on the heels of a record-breaking bookings quarter for the company in Q1, and underscores the company’s visionary leadership—facilitated by Woods—in delivering its next-generation disk-based backup storage solution. ExaGrid recently announced software upgrade Version 4.8 that increased backup capacity by nearly 80 percent to an 800TB full backup in a single system, and added bandwidth throttling and encryption during replication to further enhance the company’s stress-free backup storage solutions.

ExaGrid’s largest system has an ingest rate that is two to three times faster and a restore rate that is five to ten times faster than the EMC Data Domain 9500 at half the price. ExaGrid’s unique landing zone and scale-out architecture allow for faster backups, resulting in a shorter backup window, restores and VM boot speeds that are as much as ten times faster than inline deduplication appliances, and a fixed-length backup window as data grows. The overall cost is lower up front and over time as compared to the large brand vendors.

“We’re pleased that Graham has been honored with this much-deserved Storage Award for his service to the industry,” said Andy Walsky, VP of International Sales of at ExaGrid. “This recognition from Storage Magazine additionally acknowledges the successful expansion of ExaGrid’s footprint in delivering our scale-out disk-based backup storage appliances, which lead the industry in their ability to handle significant amounts of data while permanently fixing the backup window.”

Woods joined ExaGrid in 2008 as a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer and was later named Director of Systems Engineers, International. In his current role as VP of Systems Engineers, Woods has responsibility for the EMEA and APAC regions. He has worked in data protection and storage-related roles for over 15 years, collaborating directly with channel partners, distribution partners, and end-user customers. Prior to joining ExaGrid, Woods worked at BakBone Software, Auspex Systems, and Fujitsu-Siemens. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Liverpool.

The Storries, now in their 12th year, are presented by the United Kingdom’s Storage Magazine and give readers a chance to recognize and reward outstanding industry products, services, and professionals. Last year, more than 50,000 votes were cast in total by more than 10,000 readers, setting a new record for the Storage Awards.
